A coronary stent is a small metal mesh tube that holds a narrowed heart artery open. It comes crimped on a balloon. The cardiologist guides it to the blockage over a guidewire, then inflates the balloon with an inflation device to press the stent into the artery wall. The balloon is removed and the stent stays.
EvroSure is coated with everolimus, a drug released slowly into the artery wall to help stop tissue from growing back inside the stent. Its thin 59 µm cobalt chromium struts help it bend through curved arteries, and its polymer coating breaks down completely in 6 to 7 weeks.
Pulse offers four drug-eluting stents. All treat coronary artery disease; they differ in the drug and the design.
| Drug | Struts | Stands out for | |
|---|---|---|---|
| EvroSure | Everolimus (1.1 µg/mm²) | 59 µm, cobalt chromium | Thin struts; polymer fully breaks down in 6–7 weeks |
| MedSure | Sirolimus | 59 µm, cobalt chromium | Open cells in the mid segment for side-branch access |
| Evera | Everolimus | 65 µm strut width | High stent retention on the balloon (dislodgement force over 5) |
| Sirova | Sirolimus | 65 µm strut width | Flexible cells and S-link connectors for twisted arteries |
Pulse supplies the main single-use items for a cath lab, so one supplier answers for supply and documents.
| Pulse product | What it does |
|---|---|
| AcuSafe Micro-Access Introducer Kits | Small-needle first puncture of the artery or vein, then a sheath |
| AcuSafe Introducer Kits | Sheath and dilator that keep the vessel open for catheters and wires |
| GuideX Guidewires | Wires that guide sheaths and catheters into place and support exchanges |
| Optima Manifolds | Control contrast injection, flushing and pressure monitoring |
| Glider PTCA balloons (SC, NC, CTO) | Open the narrowed artery before a stent, and expand the stent fully after |
| Optima Inflation Device Kit | Inflates the balloon to a measured pressure to open the artery and expand the stent |
| Evera, Sirova, EvroSure (this page) and MedSure stents | Drug-eluting stents that hold the opened artery open |
| Mamba drug-coated balloon | Delivers sirolimus to the artery wall without leaving a stent behind |
| AcuSafe Blunt Needle | Controlled access for percutaneous drainage (interventional radiology) |

Got Questions?
EvroSure is a drug-eluting coronary stent used in angioplasty to hold a narrowed or blocked heart artery open. It releases everolimus to help stop the artery from narrowing again.
It carries everolimus at 1.1 µg/mm² in a biodegradable PLLA and PLGA polymer. The drug is released in about 4 weeks, and the polymer fully breaks down in 6 to 7 weeks.
The struts are 59 µm thick, on a cobalt chromium L605 platform with a hybrid cell design and non-linear links for flexibility.
Diameters of 2.25, 2.50, 2.75, 3.00, 3.50, 4.00 and 4.50 mm, and lengths from 12 mm to 54 mm. The 2.25 mm size goes up to 38 mm long and the 2.50 mm size up to 46 mm.
The nominal pressure is 8 atm and the rated burst pressure is 16 atm. The compliance chart on this page shows the stent diameter at each pressure.
Evera is also everolimus-eluting and Sirova is sirolimus-eluting, both with 65 µm struts. MedSure is sirolimus-eluting with 59 µm struts and open mid-segment cells. EvroSure pairs everolimus with thin 59 µm cobalt chromium struts and a polymer that fully breaks down in 6 to 7 weeks.
The EvroSure brochure lists ISO 13485:2016 and CE marking (notified body 1035). Ask the Pulse team for the current CDSCO licence and certificates.
