Got Questions?
A PTCA balloon is inflated inside a narrowed heart artery during angioplasty to widen it. It is also used before a stent to prepare the artery, and after a stent to expand it fully against the wall.
A semi-compliant (SC) balloon grows a little as pressure rises and is used to open narrowed arteries. A non-compliant (NC) balloon keeps its size at high pressure and is used to expand stents fully. A CTO balloon is very small (1.00 to 1.25 mm) for crossing total or near-total blockages.
Glider SC and NC come in diameters from 1.50 to 4.00 mm and lengths from 6 to 40 mm. Glider CTO comes in 1.00, 1.10 and 1.25 mm diameters and 5 to 15 mm lengths.
Glider SC: nominal 6 atm, rated burst 14 atm. Glider NC: nominal 10 atm, rated burst 18 atm. Glider CTO: nominal 6 atm, rated burst 18 atm.
Glider is a rapid exchange catheter that works with a 5F (0.056 inch) or larger guiding catheter and a guidewire up to 0.014 inch.
The Glider brochure lists ISO 13485:2016 and CE marking (notified body 1035). Ask the Pulse team for the current CDSCO licence and certificates.
